Cousin Emma's Cottage in Mayberry
Our ' olde 'mill house has been loving renovated to modern conveniences while still maintaining the charm of its era. There are two bedrooms, each furnished with a comfortable queen size bed and amenities for comfort; the one bath is off the hall and offers a hearty shower/tub; there is a washer/dryer for emergencies; and the fully equipped kitchen and dining room and living room are all one nice space. The rocking chair front porch overlooks a quiet street and view of the mountains and the famous downtown is only a two block walk away for those who want to stroll and capture the whole energy of Mayberry.
Central air conditioning and heat for your year around comfort and also a side entrance of only one step in from the carport for the convenience of those who might be using canes, etc. The house is all on one level inside with easy access for a walker or cane to get to the front porch rockers.
The owner uses the house as a 'get away' and plans to eventually retire back to her Mt. Airy roots but in the meantime visits for a few days as often as possible. The house is clean, cheerful, beautifully and comfortably furnished, and those who have stayed there love it and always want to return. There is a strict NO PETS, NO SMOKERS, and a maximum of 4 persons allowed policy. It is not child proof, either.
There is a two night minimum @150.00 per night for the house except during festival dates and week ends when the price is 175.00 for a two night minimum. Check in is 3:00PM and check out is 11:00AM. A deposit is required and will be cheerfully returned after your visit when we know all is left as you found it when you arrived.
Restaurants, grocery stores, movie theaters, Andy's museum and playhouse, all the great shops of downtown are within a very short drive or pleasant walk. You will love every minute of your stay in Mayberry and especially if you get to stay right in the heart of it at Cousin Emma's where you can cook if desired, watch TV, read, rest, relax, and enjoy the atmosphere of it all...and get in some serious rocking on the porch....no doorbell, no phone, no 'rush rush'.... and parking for one vehicle is in the carport or driveway. Here's welcoming you to wonderful Mayberry!!
