Bobby Deol Biography

Vijay Singh Deol born on 27 January 1967 in Mumbai.He is known as Bobby Deol. His father is the actor Dharmendra and his brother is actor Sunny Deol. When he was 7 years old he made a very brief appearance in the 1977 movie Dharam Veer where he played the younger version of his father's character. He made his debut as a leading man in Rajkumar Santoshi's Barsaat, for which he won a Filmfare Best Debut Award. The movie was a hit, and established his career in the industry. This was followed by the murder mystery Gupt: The Hidden Truth. The film was went on to become the fifth highest grossing movie of that year and was critically acclaimed. His following film Aur Pyaar Ho Gaya did not do well. In 1998, Deol starred in two films: Kareeb and Soldier.

The latter was a huge hit and Deol received much acclaim for his role as a mysterious killer.In 1999, he starred with his brother Sunny Deol for the first time. The film also was Sunny's directorial debut. The film did not do well.2000 started off with Badal which was a success at the box office, following films did not do as well. After a series of flop films, the actor gained a hit with the murder mystery, Ajnabee. He was scheduled to be Bollywood's most well designed launch ever. Papa Dharmendra and big brother Sunny did everything they could to ensure that Bobby Deol announced his arrival in style. Several girls were screen-tested to play the lead opposite this stunning star son, before Twinkle Khanna , became the chosen one.

None other than Shekhar Kapur was assigned the task of making the young Deol's entry into films a memorable one. But long before the film could be completed, Kapur walked out of the project and Rajkumar Santoshi took over. Finally, when 'Barsaat' (earlier titled 'Badal') hit the screen in 1995, it couldn't ensure a rousing welcome at the ticket window.Although the film proved to be an average grosser, Bobby's dreamy eyes, stylish curls and cute dimples turned on the magic. And overnight, this star-son became hot property.
