The goal of the Mount Airy Parks and Recreation Department is to offer high-quality, life-long recreational opportunities to the citizens of Mount Airy and the surrounding community by:
      * Providing attractive and appropriate facilities, primarily for recreation.
      * Maintaining a safe, family-oriented atmosphere.
      * Having a well-organized and professional staff.
      * Offering quality, comprehensive programs .
      * Having clear and reasonable policies on participation packages.
      * Developing effective ways of evaluating our programs and staff, making adjustments as needed
      * Assessing for public input and offering educational reports to the community.
      * Designing and promoting programs that allow each individual participant the opportunity to reach his/her recreational and
         wellness potential.
