"The Hollows" is the name that defines the greater Mount Airy area because it is encircled by the Blue Ridge Mountains, Slate Mountain, The Sauratowns, Pilot Mountain and Turner Mountain.
Visitors can enjoy a great panoramic view of the mountains by visiting the Mount Airy Museum of Regional History’s clock tower located at 301 N. Main St. The museum is open: Tuesday-Friday, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. and Saturday, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Small admission fee. Call 336-786-4478
