Lost Words, Creative Learning with Minglewood Preserve

Minglewood’s Lost Words, creative workshop is based on the book written by Robert Macfarlane and illustrated by Jackie Morris. With it’s spellbound poetry and the impressive illustrations this beautiful book opens the readers imagination and grows their knowledge of the natural world in a fascinating ways.
During this week Minglewood’s staff will share the book, Lost Words, with our students. We will lead your teenagers to discover some of the plants and animals with which they share their everyday world with. They will chose a local plant or animal to be their subject for week. We will discover creative writing, poetry and the spoken word. We will make rod puppets inspired by our plant or animal. We will bring all of our creative words and artwork together for on our last day to celebrate our discoveries!
