Join the City of Mount Airy and the Mount Airy Appearance Commission for our 2nd Annual Half Mile of Holiday Cheer & Tree Lighting FREE Family Event!

Stroll through Downtown Mount Airy while enjoying your favorite Christmas carols being played and sung by local musical groups including Grace Moravian Church Band, the Mormon Choir, Surry Sings Community Choir, Villancicos Navideños, VOCE, Mount Airy High School Chorus, Old Time Music & Fiddlers, Blues Band, MAUI and Nonesuch Singers from 6pm until 7pm. The Mount Airy High School Band will parade through downtown beginning at 7pm, as music participants and spectators join in to follow to the tree located at City Hall.

The tree lighting ceremony will take place at 7:30pm until 8pm. Mount Airy Presbyterian Church will be providing hot chocolate. Santa Claus will make a very special appearance at this event! Downtown Businesses will be open late for a special night of Holiday Open House!

Make plans to join us for Christmas cheer, shopping, music and more. Stay for the tree lighting ceremony and visit with Santa! Don't forget to bring your letters to Santa! **Please note that Main Street will be closed to vehicular traffic during this event. Everyone is encouraged to us the multiple public parking lots surrounding downtown and walking through the streets for this event.**
