Established in 1789, Rockford is on the National Register of Historic Districts, and is a glimpse into a life that bustled with hotels, taverns, mills and general stores.
Once the county seat of Surry County, there are several historic structures and attractions to visit, such as Rockford General Store, Yadkin River Adventures, Rockford Inn Bed and Breakfast, and the Rockford Methodist Church and its fresco “Come Unto Me” by Tony Griffin.
